A 10 acre prescribed burn is scheduled to take place at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park tomorrow. The California Department of Parks and Recreation and CalFire are planning to ignite 10 acreas of cut brush near the observation platform at Henry Cowell, which is expected to burn through Thursday. This burn is being conducted to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire and to maintain rare sandhills habitat within the park.
