A Santa Cruz County inmate has been sentenced for threatening a correctional officer and assaulting a prisoner. Officials say John Jason Thomas committed both felonies while in custody at county jail. Thomas was previously convicted of felony assault for stabbing his mother’s boyfriend in 2006. Additionally, he has served two prison terms for domestic violence. He has been sentenced to seventeen years and four months in prison.
