Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall will soon receive state funding to improve the facility. California lawmakers recently approved a $9.5 million grant, which will be used for upgrades at Juvenile Hall, including a new kitchen, and a garden area. Staff at the facility plan to use both the kitchen and garden to teach incarcerated minors job skills. The grant will also be used to strengthen security and fund plumbing and electrical upgrades.
