The Salinas Fire Department will soon acquire a new HazMat vehicle. The agency plans to purchase the truck through a grant from Homeland Security and department funding. The purchase will be made in an effort to improve public safety in the area. If the city council approves the vehicle, it will arrive in summer of 2016.
