A Suicidal Salinas Man was the cause of a Saturday power outage. Shortly after 10 a.m. PG& E crews cut power to close to 17,000 customers while police and crisis negotiators tried to a 47 year old man who was calling for police to shoot him, down from a power pole on Sansome Street. The ordeal ended after 3 and a half hours when the man came partially down the pole before leaping the last 15 feet. And injuring himself, he was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
