The CHP has started a crack down on Highway 9 north of Boulder Creek. Following a rise in complaints of street racing and of drivers performing four wheel drift slides around turns the agency announced it has dedicated patrol units to the area. Since implementing the crack down between Boulder Creek and Highway 236 the CHP has issued up to 28 racing related citations in one day, four vehicles were impounded the same day.
