U.S. Supreme Court Denies Appeal from Morgan Hill Students- 3/30/15 09:00 S.G.

The United States Supreme Court has denied an appeal from a group of Morgan Hill students who wore shirts depicting the American flag on Cinco de Mayo. Live Oak High School officials ordered the students to turn their shirts inside out in observance of the holiday in 2010. In November 2011, a federal court judge ruled that the school district acted within its rights. An appeal was then filed with the U.S. Supreme Court last December. The justices have ruled that the school acted appropriately to prevent disruption on campus.
