The Santa Cruz City Council will discuss rules for how police officers will use the new BearCat tomorrow night. This new armored vehicle was purchased with a homeland security grant at a price of $251,000 and is expected to be delivered in May. Those opposing the vehicle would like to see it rescinded, but others are still supporting its purchase claiming that it is necessary to protect officers who put their lives at risk for public safety.
