A Salinas woman died in a solo car crash Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on River Road near Chualar River Road. Officials say the 53-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle, went off the roadway, and crashed into an embankment. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. River Road was closed for four hours while officers conducted an investigation.
