An early Sunday morning power outage in Salinas was caused by a drunk driver. Authorities say that at about 2:45 a.m. a vehicle driven by 53 year old Daniel Fisher collided with a utility pole on East Bernal Drive. The impact sheared the pole off at the base. Police determined Fisher, who has a history of DUI, was intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested and booked into county jail. The roadway was closed for several hours while P G & E crews restored power.
