California Gas Prices Up – 3/05/15 07:30 M.K.

California gas prices are on the rise. U.S. average gas prices have increased a total of 39 cents a gallon over the past 35 days. The national average is $2.45 while California’s average is almost a dollar more. The rise in prices has been attributed to an explosion at the Exxon Mobil refinery near Los Angeles February 19th, which stopped production in all of the affected units. Prices will likely continue to rise as refineries transition to their more expensive summer blend. The lowest average gas price in the U.S. is Utah at $2.05.
