Lompico Water District Proposes Rate Increase- 3/04/15 09:00 S.G.

The Lompico Water Department has made a proposal to increase water rates. The decision follows last week’s vote to merge the Lompico Water District with the San Lorenzo Valley Water District. The measure failed to pass by one vote. The merger would have given the district access to a new water source for a price of $404 per year. Water officials are now proposing a $600 increase per year for each connection. The money collected would help pay for state-mandated improvements and may be used to apply for a $3 million loan. A meeting will be held Friday to discuss the rate increase. The board discussion will be held at the Lompico Water Department at 6 p.m.
