A Santa Cruz volleyball coach has been charged with sending harmful material to a minor and failing to register as a sex offender. 49-year-old Kjell Nilssen contacted the victim for over 18 months through Facebook and WhatsApp. On February 12th, he was arrested on suspicion of attempting to have sex with the 16-year-old girl. Nilssen could face up to three years in prison. He is currently out on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19th. Nilssen was convicted in Santa Clara County on similar charges in 2001.
