Bill Introduced Addressing Vaccine Exemptions for Parents- 2/20/15 8:00 S.G.

State lawmakers have introduced a bill that would prevent parents from opting out of vaccinations for their children based on personal beliefs. The legislation was proposed yesterday following the recent outbreak of measles at Disneyland’s California parks. Currently, parents are allowed to avoid state requirements to vaccinate their children based on personal or religious beliefs. Senate Bill 277 would end all personal belief exemptions. If signed into law, the legislation would only allow parents to opt out of vaccinations for their children on medical grounds.
