The moguls in the dirt lot, known for the last 13 years as the Aptos Post Office Jumps (and other similar names), were flattened this morning. That was one of the first steps in the Aptos Village Fair Plan. The barn (with all the antique shops) next door to the dirt lot is reportedly going to be moved 100 feet later this year to make way for the Aptos Village Fair development, which will be a 3-story construction with shops and homes. Some locals, who say the development will change the entire character of Aptos, are circulating a petition in hopes of getting the Aptos Village Fair Plan put on the ballot, so that Aptos residents can choose whether they want the development to go ahead or not.
