Assemblyman Luis Alejo of Salinas has introduced a bill known as the Safe Water and Wildlife Protection Act of 2015. If Assembly Bill 300 is approved, it could be good news for Watsonville’s Pinto Lake. The lake is currently considered one of the most toxic in the world because of the algae blooms in the water.
