Homeless Activists Propose Overnights Stays in Parks- 1/29/15 19:30 P.M.D.

Santa Cruz homeless activists are proposing regulated over night stays in city and county parks. The proposal seeks to address the lack of beds and other resources for the county’s homeless population, which was last estimated at about 3,500 people. The idea is called the Camp of Last Resort and would rotate the regulated sites on a nightly basis. A community forum on the plan is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Louden Nelson Center.
