A Carmel woman has been hospitalized in critical condition after allegedly being beaten by a tenant on Saturday. At about 6:10 p.m., Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the 26000 block of El Camino Real to find the home owner, 62-year-old Karen Jones, laying in the front yard suffering from blunt force trauma. Jones was transported to the hospital, while officers located the suspect in a room he rents from the victim. 63-year-old Marc Cross was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on attempted murder charges.
