A 21-year-old man from Freedom was sentenced to four years in prison yesterday. Autreydrez Maldonado pleaded no contest to charges of manslaughter in November 2013, after fatally stabbing his 17-year-old brother with a home-made knife. The incident occurred on November 1st of that year, after the two brothers got into an argument that escalated into a fight. The judge gave a lenient sentence due to Maldonado’s remorse and letters he’d received from family members.
