Right-to-Die Legislation Introduced in California- 1/20/15 20:00 S.S.

Local State Senator Bill Monning is working on Right-to-Die legislation. That after a 29-year-old San Francisco Bay Area woman with brain cancer moved to Oregon so she could legally end her life. Terminally ill patients can now take their own lives in five states, including Oregon, which passed their Death-with-Dignity act in 1994, and reaffirmed it in 1997. Senator Monning says he is modeling his bill on Oregon’s law which is limited to those who have less than six months to live and requires the patient to knowingly request, and take, the deadly medication themselves.
