New Capitola Police Officer Sworn In- 1/18/15 17:45 P.M.D.

A temporary Capitola reserve police officer credited with saving two lives during the summer, has been sworn in as a permanent member of the department. 24-year-old Brantly Sandretti was working a a reservist when he administered CPR to man in respiratory failure from a drug overdose on Clares Street. A week later on the same street he performed CPR on a 60-year-old man experiencing heart failure, saving both men’s lives. Sandretti, who attended high school in Scotts Valley, paid his own way through the police academy. He is now a patrol officer for the Capitola Police Department.
