A Santa Cruz elementary school student was transported to the hospital this morning after being pinned under a fallen tree. A boy and a girl were on the playground at Gateway School when the tree fell around 8:30 a.m. The girl sustained minor scrapes while the other student suffered a fractured arm. The 11-year-old boy has been treated for his injury and is expected to make a full recovery. The school has been closed for the rest of the day.
