California Regulators to Consider Fining PG&E for Secret Negotiations- 11/20/14 8:00 S.G.

The California Public Utilities Commission will meet today to consider whether or not to fine PG&E for allegedly conducting secret negotiations with its regulator. The company allegedly sent emails to CPUC officials discussing which judge would be more favorable for the utility in a case over gas rates. Regulators will consider fining PG&E $1 million for the emails and may require its shareholders to pay as much as $200 million to cover the gas rate increase.
