Santa Cruz High School will be closed today due to a threat to student safety. Officials say the principal received an email last night from an individual threatening a mass shooting. The message mentioned specific times, places, weapons, and even students. Investigators believe the email came from a server using sophisticated encryption, protecting the sender’s identity. The FBI has been called in to help with the investigation. Emergency calls were made to all students and parents around 6 a.m. this morning. Staff will be present on campus to advise students who come to school. Police are expected to release more information at a press conference today at 1 p.m.
