Traffic officials are adding safety measures in Monterey County following a fatal crash on Highway 68 last month. 51-year-old traffic worker Jesus Fernandez of Tracy was killed when he was struck by 50-year-old Adam Zubiate on October 30th. CHP officers will now be present within the construction zone. Zubiate, who appeared in court yesterday, has been charged with killing Fernandez while driving under the influence. He is due back in court in January.
