A Salinas Union High School trustee, and huge supporter of student achievement, has died. James “Jim” Reavis was 85-years-old, and had served the school district for more than 35 of those years. His family wrote in Jim’s obituary that he ‘took pride in ensuring that education for young adults was not a line item on the agenda, it was the agenda’. The remaining school district trustees can either choose to appoint Reavis’ replacement on the board, or hold a special election.
