Scotts Valley, Land Trust in Final Stages of Approving Preserve- 11/18/14 19:00 S.S.

The city of Scotts Valley, and the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, are working together to finalize environmental documents for a parcel of land that was once slated to become a housing development. It’s yet another step in the process that will hopefully have the Glenwood Open Space Preserve open to the public by the end of 2015. Once the documentation is approved by U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife, the city and the land trust hope to get the community’s input on a public access plan and a trail system. The land is home to a number of threatened and endangered species, including the Scotts Valley spineflower and the Ohlone tiger beetle.
