Hundreds of volunteers showed up for the annual Make A Difference Day. Officials say that on Saturday, despite rainy conditions volunteers showed up at 21 sites around Santa Cruz for the annual event. Participants gave back to the community by performing tasks such as pulling weeds at the Homeless Gardens Project, cleaning school grounds, and painting classrooms. The number of volunteers was about twice as many as last year.
