Santa Cruz Bobcat Deaths Linked to Rodenticide- 10/24/14 9:00 S.G.

The recent deaths of two bobcats found on the UC Santa Cruz campus have been linked to rodenticide.   High amounts of the anti-coagulant were found in their systems when they died last month. Predators like bobcats are vulnerable to poisoning when they eat rodents killed by rodenticide. State Fish and Wildlife officials are reminding residents to use non-toxic methods to control rodents. As of July, anti-coagulant rodenticide can only be sold to professional exterminators.
