Pacific Grove’s former police commander’s ex-wife is to face federal charges. 40-year-old Kristin Nyunt has already been sentenced to 8 years in a state prison for multiple convictions related to identity theft. Friday the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Nyunt is also being charged in federal court. Nyunt is scheduled to be in a U.S. district courtroom Thursday in San Jose to face two counts of wiretapping and possession of illegal spyware. If convicted she faces up to 5 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
