Sexual Assault Victims’ Families Sue MPUSD- 10/17/14 8:00 S.G.

The families of two girls who were sexually assaulted by a school bus driver are suing the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. The suit alleges MPUSD was negligent when they hired 31-year-old Carlos Domingo Rodriguez III. Rodriguez was arrested last year when he was accused of molesting two Colton Middle School girls. The bus driver pleaded no contest in February to the charges against him. The civil suit says the district should have conducted a thorough background check before hiring Rodriguez.
