The man accused of Friday’s double murder in Watsonville is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow. 31 year-old Michael Escobar is scheduled to appear in Santa Cruz Superior Court. The night manager of the Valley Motel, Ramon Rendon, who was the intended victim, was shot and killed as he was leaving the motel via a parking lot that is shared with the Fish House Bar and Grill. 4 year-old Jaelyn Zavala, and a 26 year-old man were reportedly inside the back office of the family-operated restaurant when they suffered gunshot wounds. Zavala died a short time later, while Emanuel Hernandez suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting.
