Last Friday’s shooting in Watsonville resulted in the death of two victims. Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on the 900 block of Main Street around 11:55 p.m. Multiple gunshots were heard and several suspects were witnessed fleeing the scene by arriving officers. 4-year-old Jaelyn Zavala and 33-year-old Ramon Rendon were shot to death and a third victim, 26-year-old Emanuel Hernandez suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 31-year-old Michael Escobar of Salinas was apprehended, arrested, and booked into county jail on murder charges.
