The Veterans For Foreign Wars and its Ladies Auxiliary are currently accepting applications for their 2014 Voice of Democracy scholarship competition. The national competition is available to 9-12th grade students who are enrolled in public, private, home study or parochial high school programs. Students must write and record a script ranging from 3-5 minutes, addressing the patriotic theme of “Why veterans are important to our nation’s history and future?” Scholarships and prizes will be granted at state, district, post, and national levels, with the highest scholarship being $30,000. The deadline to apply is November 1st.
