A Friday evening at the Former Fort Ord has been described as suspicious. Firefighters received a call of a structure fire on Hayes Circle just after 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival crews found a duplex 50 percent consumed by the blaze. Fire fighting efforts were hampered when it was discovered the water supply to the area had been vandalized. The building had been proposed for demolition and was in the Cypress Knolls development area. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
