Shellfish advisory lifted-7/13/13-1606-PMD

THE SHELL FISH ADVISORY FOR MONTEREY AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES HAS BEEN LIFTED.  IN APRIL THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUED A WARNING CONCERNING HIGH LEVELS OF, THE NERVE TOXIN, DOMOIC ACID IN LOCAL BI-VALVE SHELLFISH POPULATIONS.  THE AGENCY NOW STATES THAT RECENT TESTINGS IN THE MONTEREY BAY HAVE SHOWN THAT LEVELS OF THE POTENTIONALLY FATAL TOXIN HAVE DROPPED INTO THE RANGE  WHICH MAKES THEM SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.
