CRML VLLY BYCLCST KLLD-6/22/14-1347-PMD

 

A BICYCLIST RECEIVED FATAL INJURIES AFTER BEING  STRUCK BY A CAR ON SATURDAY.   SHORTLY BEFORE 3 P-M  1ST RESPONDERS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE OF A COLLISION BETWEEN A CAR AND A BICYCLIST, ON SADDLE ROAD, OFF OF LAURALES GRADE IN THE CARMEL VALLEY AREA. THE BICYCLIST WAS TRANSPORTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL WHERE HE DIED FROM HIS INJURIES.  THE DRIVER OF THE CAR, IDENTIFIED ONLY AS AN 83 YEAR OLD MALE, WAS UNINJURED.   NEITHER DRUGS NOR ALCOHOL APPEAR TO BE A FACTOR, AND THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
