a department of justice representative met with community leaders in salinas yesterday (thurs). the d-o-j rep is currently in the assessment phase of the state of the community, following civil unrest, after 2 fatal officer involved shootings. the next phase will OUTLINE a plan of action, which could range from a federal investigation to mediation. the representative is expected to make several more trips to salinas as plans DEVELOP.
