a gang member convicted of attempted murder and witness intimidation was SENTENCED in a santa cruz courtroom yesterday (thurs). at a 2011 new year’s eve party, jose ocegueda pulled a pistol and shot a rival gang member 3 times. the victim died, but was revived by police. ocegueda was convicted of that crime along with witness intimidation in march. a santa cruz county judge handed down a sentenced of 37 years to life, he won’t be eligible for parole for more than 30 years.
