Salinas Capital One property 05/20/14 1000 S.S.
Some Salinas business associations are urging Monterey County Supervisors NOT to continue with their plan to purchase the vacant Capital One property for county use. The Salinas Valley Chamber asks that Supervisors hear public input BEFORE acquiring 1441 Schilling Place. Chamber members are concerned that moving jobs away from the downtown area could have several negative impacts, and they also say the area (which is primarily agricultural/industrial in nature), is poorly set-up for increased traffic flow.
