defended his officers at a press conference yesterday (thurs). the chief spoke out about the shooting death of a knife wielding man in a crowded shopping center last week after some witness accounts conflicted with the police reports. the chief said that he stands behind his officers actions, but at the same time issued the department’s condolences to the dead man’s family.
