A SANTA CRUZ SECURITY OFFICER HAS BEEN INJURED AFTER BEING ATTACKED BY A TRANSIENT.    THE FIRST ALARM OFFICER SAW 40-YEAR-OLD BRIAN ARMSTRONG JUMP A FENCE TO ACCESS THE CLOSED MIKE FOX PARK AROUND 8:25 THIS (TUES) MORNING.    AFTER ASKING ARMSTRONG TO LEAVE THE PARK, THE SUSPECT THREATENED THE OFFICER BEFORE RIPPING THE BADGE OFF HIS SHIRT.    AFTER A STRUGGLE, ARMSTRONG GOT INTO HIS TRUCK AND STARTED THE ENGINE.  THE TRANSIENT THREATENED THE OFFICER AGAIN BEFORE HITTING HIM WITH THE CAR’S OPEN DOOR AND DRIVING OFF.   POLICE LOCATED ARMSTRONG A FEW BLOCKS AWAY.    HE WAS ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY AND ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON.
