A resolution declaring a water shortage emergency was unanimously approved by The San Benito County Water District yesterday. The declaration, which goes into effect immediately, asks large water users to voluntarily cut-back on water usage by 15-percent. those who use more water than they’re allocated will also be fined an additional 12-hundred dollars in overuse fees. The water emergency resolution applies mostly to farmers, ranchers, golf courses and industrial parks.
