Santa Cruz Facility Repair Funding 02-12-14 07:30 av

The City of Santa Cruz approved 2.6-million dollars in funding yesterday to be used in making multiple facility repairs, including fixing the field of a popular soccer park.    City officials say it’s going to cost just over a million dollars to repair the field at Depot Park, which has been plagued by flooding and uneven surfaces.   The city’s Parks and Rec. Depatment closed the site in late October.   The city says they plan to recoup the estimated 1.3-million dollars needed to makes the repairs through a lawsuit against the field’s contractor and architect.  In addition, the council also approved replacing the heating and air conditioning system at the Police Department, City Hall improvements and economic development initiatives.
