A preliminary hearing is underway for a mother and son charged with the murder of a Capitola property manager last year. Jonathan Gordon Smith was found shot to death on November 9th inside of the business complex where he worked. 28-year old Daniel Cohen and his mother 58-year old Diana Cohen were later arrested on suspicion of murder. Police say Smith was in the process of evicting the pair from their Live Oak apartment when he was killed. The hearing is expected to continue with testimony from Santa Cruz County Coroner Richard Mason.
