A 29-year old man was arrested in Watsonville yesterday on gun possession charges. Just before 7 p.m., a police officer was driving in the area of Freedom and Davis Avenue when he spotted a suspected stolen vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle once it pulled into the K-mart parking lot and stopped, and attempted to contact the driver, when police say Luis Miguel Arredondo fled on foot. During a brief foot chase Arredondo brandished a gun and tossed it into the drive thru lane of the Jack in the box restaurant. Arredondo was apprehended. Police discovered the gun was stolen out of the City of Santa Cruz. Meanwhile, the car he was driving was not.
