Seaside Approves Crime Fighting Cameras 01-17-14 07:30 av

The Seaside police Department received the green light this week to begin installing a surveillance system that will be used to fight crime.   Council members approved the decision during a meeting last night.   Approval comes after the city received an anonymous check for $100,000 specifically for the program.  Seaside Police Chief Vicki Myers says the cameras will help officers identify crime vehicles along with their drivers and passengers.   The four cameras are expected to be installed within the month in public places.
