Extremely dry vegetation and a lack of rain has prompted a level-3 fire restriction at Los Padres National Forest. Officials say the restrictions, which go into effect today, include prohibiting all wood and charcoal fires from being burned. Clearing all flammable material for a distance of 10-feet in all directions from each of the forest’s camp stoves. prohibiting smoking and hunting in all areas of the forest, and operating or using any internal or external combustion engine must have a spark arresting device properly installed and maintained.
