CAMBRIA MAN DUI 12/22/13 1440 GE

A MAN HAS PLED GUILTY FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE THAT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, INJURING SEVERAL MEMBERS OF A FAMILY. IN NOVEMBER, GREGORIO FLORES, OF CAMBRIA, WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 101 NORTH OF EAST GARRISON ROAD, WHEN HE COLLIDED HEAD-ON WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. HE ALLEGEDLY LEFT THE SCENE, LEAVING A FAMILY OF FOUR TRAPPED INSIDE THEIR VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO THE MONTEREY COUNTY D-A’S OFFICE , THREE ADULTS AND ONE CHILD HAD TO BE EXTRICATED FROM THE VEHICLE. TWO ADULTS SUFFERED MAJOR INJURIES TO THE EXTREMITIES OF THE BODY AND THE CHILD SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. FLORES WAS FOUND BY THE POLICE LATER ON AND TESTED FOR AN ALCOHOL LEVEL OF .16 PERCENT. HE IS EXPECTED TO BE SENTENCED TO AT LEAST 9 YEARS IN PRISON.
