King City Sprinkler Theft 12-06-13 07:30 av

Police in are investigating a theft that occurred over a 3-month span that involved 3,000 sprinkler heads to be stolen from a King City Vineyard.    Delicato Family Vineyards says this time of year is common for thieves to strike, since the grape harvest is over, and sprinklers aren’t being watched as closely.  Monterey County Sherriff’s Deputies says thieves melt the sprinkler heads down for copper or brass materials, or sell the heads to other farmers.   The vineyard says it’s about 30-thousand dollars to replace the sprinklers, meanwhile deputies say they have surveillance footage of the thefts taking place.
